The first thing I noticed after I updated my Galaxy S2 to ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich), was that the same button press combo for taking a screen shot wasn't doing the trick anymore.
Luckily, a quick Google search taught me how to do it.
On Gingerbread, the shortcut was to hold the Home button (bottom middle of the phone) and then quickly hit the power button, but now, in ICS they've changed it to be Volume Down + Home button + Power button, and you must press them at the same time. EDIT: ahh correction, just Volume Down + Power Button (stupid guy on youtube!)
I always wonder why developers would change stuff like that? I mean, the windows button on a keyboard still opens up the start menu, no matter if it's Windows 95 or Windows 7.
Anyway, glad that's sorted, will keep you guys posted on the rest of my findings!
I recently got myself a Samsung Galaxy S2 - Samsung's flagship Android phone, and boy am I impressed with it! I have decided to blog about all my experiences with the phone, so have a browse through my blog, and feel free to leave comments on any of my posts!

Ice Cream Sandwich in South Africa
Good day my loyal followers and readers! As you can see, there's a slight spring in my writing this fine day. Even though it is cold and a tad on the miserable side here in Cape Town, I am happy to report that I have updated my Samsung Galaxy S2 to Ice Cream Sandwich today!
Yes that's right, Vodacom has finally allowed the update to start rolling out. I have unfortunately no idea about the other networks, so if you are on either MTN, CellC or 8ta, and you've also updated to ICS, please let me know be leaving a comment below.
Although the update went through very smoothly and without any issues, the first thing I'm finding a bit annoying is that the regular old key-press combo for taking a screen shot (home button and power button pressed together) isn't doing the trick anymore!
So, alas, I don't have a screen shot of my new version just yet, but as soon as I figure that out, I'll let you know!
I'll also keep you posted about compatibility issues with my apps, as and when they occur!
Keep well good people!

Cool free live wallpapers
One of the very sweet features of the Galaxy S2, and Android phones in general, is there ability to display live wallpapers - if you don't know what this means, it's basically an animated wallpaper, but not just simple animations like GIF files for example - these can be interactive and feature some very cool effects and so on.
I did a quick search, and found a few very cool ones, and best of all, they're all free!
EDIT: I've just done a post with some more awesome, FREE live wallpapers :)
First one is a very nice Koi pond, with live (digital though :) fish that you can feed, and when you touch the screen you see the ripples in the water, which is quite nice. Here are some screen shots (but these don't really do it justice, best would be to just download it and check it out yourself in real time!):
In the last one I tried showing the ripples in the water, but it didn't work that well.
Get it here
The next one I have is 3D FireFlies - this one also looks great. Here are some screen shots:

After that one I have Inferno Galaxy, which looks like a space scene that's on fire. Very cool! Here are some shots:
Get it here
My second last option is Snowfall live wallpaper:
Very pretty (a bit girly though, I like the much more manly Inferno Galaxy YEAH!! :)
Anyway, get it here
And the last one I checked out is some nice clouds with LIGHTNING - who doesn't like lightning hehe:
I took about 20 shots just to get a decent lightning flash, these were pretty much the best ones I could get.
Get it here
There you have it, 5 really nice Live Wallpapers for your Galaxy S2/Android phone. Now, I can imagine some of these can be quite a battery hog, but I don't have any stats on those. I do charge my phone every day, as the battery doesn't last, so for now I'll leave one of them on and will let you know if it makes that big a difference.
If you have some Live Wallpapers you'd like to recommend, feel free to leave a comment!
Cheers, and as always, till next time!

How to take a screen shot with your Galaxy S2
Yup that's right, you can even get a screen shot on your Galaxy S2 - and it's really easy to do, no need for additional apps, it's already built-in on the phone. Simply hold the "Home" key and quickly hit the power button as well. This will take a screenshot, and store it on your phone's memory.
Want proof? Here it is ;)
